Our History

Kumaka Early Development Index (KEDI) is a social infrastructure development facilitation and management organization established in 2013. Our key focus is to facilitate implementation of infrastructure projects across South Africa’s public and private sectors.

We provide planning and development management services across the infrastructure value chain – from initiation, conceptualization and viability planning, through detailed design, procurement, planning and implementation, to completion and handover of projects. KEDI holds a decade of proven project expertise in facilitating Socio-Economic Development (SED) to promote community participation and localization for the benefit of local Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs), job creation and skills development.

KEDI is intentional about contributing to the growth and development of South Africa and Africa as a whole. We provide a customized multi-disciplinary model and approach in planning and development management services across the infrastructure value chain – from initiation, conceptualisation and viability planning, through detailed design, procurement planning and implementation, to completion and handover of projects.

KEDI’s work is driven by passion to bring about social change in communities we serve to address the triple challenges of poverty, inequality and unemployment. As orchestrators of well-modeled social change, KEDI contributes to transformation of society through a model of contractual inclusivity and social compact with communities and other key stakeholders.
